Cyber Patriot

Mission: CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. ​At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks.

Math Meet

Literary Meet

Sponsor: Stacey Hall
Mission: To give high school students an opportunity to develop and showcase their reading, writing, and communication talents. Selected by English faculty, the literary team participates in the SCISA State Literary Meet during the spring semester.  Participating in essay writing, extemporaneous speaking, and oral interpretation, Northwood Academy has garnered accolades, including wins at the state level, in each category. 

Student Government Association


Sponsor: Vivian Tremaine
Mission: To develop civic responsibility, leadership, scholarship, service, and human relations with the student body. SGA positions are elected and voted on by class peers

The mission of SGA is to be a bridge between students and administration. We seek to serve and lead our campus by advocating for students with integrity, humility, and grace as modeled by Christ. Through enacting legislation, facilitating student events, and engaging the local community, we strive to promote an environment where students can truly live as Champions for Christ.

Lego Robotics

Mission: To provide a fun and exciting way for students to get an enriched education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) through a hands-on Robotics program.

Spelling Bee

Mission: To develop middle school students’ skills in language construction and give them an opportunity to confidently show their abilities. 

Quiz Bowl

Sponsor: Brenda Strickland
Mission: To develop and showcase students’ quick thinking, fast reflexes, and broad range of knowledge.

Quiz bowl is a game in which one must rely on quick thinking, fast reflexes, and, most importantly, knowledge of various academic subjects. It is vital for quiz bowl players to be able to connect the concepts and facts which they learn in the classroom to the questions which are posed in this competitive environment.
