Technology is a powerful and effective tool to prepare students to engage effectively and work efficiently. Students are equipped to become discerning consumers of constantly available information and to wisely navigate our digital world.
Lower School classrooms balance traditional instruction augmented with technology. Screen time is limited. Students in Kindergarten through third grade use tablets to enhance the curriculum and engage young learners; fourth and fifth grade students transition to Chromebooks to complete specific projects and access e-textbooks. Lower School devices are for on-site use.
Upper School students become digital natives on the Northwood Academy Google for Education platform with 1:1 Chromebooks for their 24/7 use during the school year. Whether for homework, educational apps, research, or classroom assignments, students gain essential innovation, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills.
